Unrestricted Bequest
For an unrestricted gift that allows LAMP to determine how funds are used based on the organization’s most pressing needs, you may use the following language in your will or trust:
“I give to Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP), a nonprofit organization located at 714 Charlton St., Valdosta, GA 31601, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount, percentage of estate, or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”
Restricted Bequest
To designate your gift for a specific purpose, you may use the following language:
“I give to Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP), a nonprofit organization located at 714 Charlton St., Valdosta, GA 31601, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount, percentage of estate, or description of property]. This gift should be used for [state purpose] if and so long as Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP) determines that the need exists. If the need no longer exists or it becomes impractical to fulfill the original purpose, LAMP may redirect the use of the gift to a purpose as closely aligned as possible.”
