Lunch At LAMP
Since Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP) was founded in 1984, our mission has been to provide shelter, resources, and hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The Lunch at LAMP program was born out of a critical community need after the closure of the Valdosta Soup Kitchen, which for many years provided meals to those experiencing food insecurity in our area. When the Soup Kitchen closed its doors, LAMP recognized the gap left behind and stepped up to ensure that no one in our community would go without a hot meal.
What began as an effort to fill an urgent need has now grown into a cornerstone of LAMP’s daily services. Through Lunch at LAMP, community members, churches, civic groups, and local businesses join together to provide hot, nutritious meals to our residents. But it's more than just a meal—it's a chance to share kindness, dignity, and hope with those navigating some of life's most difficult challenges.
Whether it's a home-cooked dish, sandwiches, or catered food from a local restaurant, every lunch makes an impact—and every volunteer helps continue the legacy of compassion and care that Valdosta has always shown its neighbors.

What to Expect When You Volunteer
Each day, LAMP serves between 100 to 150 individuals who are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity right here in our community. Lunch at LAMP is one of the key ways we ensure that every person who comes through our doors receives a hot, nutritious meal — and a reminder that they are not alone.
Meal Service Details:
Serving Time: 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Days: Monday through Friday
Volunteer Arrival: Volunteers often arrive by 9:00 a.m. to prepare, set up, and get ready to serve meals with care and dignity.
