As another glorious year at LAMP (Lowndes Associated
Ministries to People, Inc.) ended, we felt it our duty to update the
community on our successes and challenges.
The year 2004 was full of excitement for us. We expanded our homeless shelter by twenty-five beds which brings our total to sixty-one and allows us to now house men as well as women and children. (This means that families needing assistance are no longer forced to split apart and suffer more stress.) We moved our administrative offices and our Helpers Unlimited offices into the newly renovated Leila Ellis complex. We received notification of an award that will renovate our pantry facility so that operations may be more efficient. And, we added three free-standing homes to our transitional housing program. All of these accomplishments are impressive but they are even greater accomplishments when one considers that we were able to complete all of the additions at no cost to the agency. These achievements were possible because of our close and invaluable relationships with Lowndes County and many community agencies with whom we partner. Beyond the physical additions we are blessed with, we are most proud of our service numbers. During the year, we provided the following invaluable services to the community:
As you can see, we are continuing to provide invaluable services to our friends and neighbors but this is only possible because of generous contributions made regularly by hundreds of concerned individuals and organizations. Please remember LAMP during this coming year and help
us to ensure that everyone is receiving the hand-up that they need.
Our needs are great but we are confident in you. |
